It’s never too young to for your kids to join Mint kids! When they roll into the door, we’ll give them an iPad already loaded with great kids games to keep them busy. We suggest you bring them in when they are about 18-months old. A Mint doctor who knows about kids’ teeth will examine them and talk to you about what if any dental work should be done now. Unless it’s an overbite or something structural, generally we’ll load them up with a bunch of swag and give you instructions about the best way to care for twenty teeth that will soon disappear. No worries! They’ll have 28 new teeth by the time they are 17, then four more teeth (their wisdom teeth) will grow by age 25.
Every day Mint dentists are repairing chipped teeth of young soccer players, installing implants and bridges on baby boomers, showing young moms best oral hygiene practices for their five year olds, and creating fantastic new smiles for thirty-something executives. Every dentist your family needs is right here!
Gum surgery is referred to as root planning and scaling. This surgery is performed when gums have either started to pull away from the teeth or the roots of the teeth have hard mineral deposits (tartar) on them. Gingivitis is a mild form of gum disease that can be usually reversed by regular brushing, flossing and cleaning. Periodontitis is a severe form of gum disease that can destroy the bones, gums and tissue that support the teeth. Mint Dentistry is very aggressive in the treatment of Periodontal Gum disease because once bone is lost, it’s gone forever. Three out of four Americans have some form of periodontal disease and only 3 out of 100 will ever get treated before it’s too late.

What are the details of teeth whitening?
It’s safe and quick. Just let us know at any appointment if you would like to whiten your teeth. You can lighten only your upper teeth or both the upper and lower, depending on how much you show when you talk and smile.
How is teeth whitening done?
An impression is taken to make a specialized “mouth-guard” or “tray” to hold the bleach against the teeth. The material is used each night for about 3-4 hours for a week or two, and at the end of this time, significant whitening will occur. In some cases, the change is nothing short of brilliant. For confidence in appearance, bleaching technology allows us to promise improvements in yellowing, aging or stained teeth. For very severely stained teeth, crowns or porcelain veneers may be more appropriate.
Things happen. And when they happen to the mouth, it can be really painful. That’s why you want to keep Mint on speed-dial. (214.827.MINT in Dallas or 713.692.MINT in Houston.)

Mint recommends dental implants to replace missing teeth whenever possible. Before dental implants, dentures were the only alternative to replacing missing teeth.
Dental implants are tiny titanium posts which are surgically placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium posts, which act as tooth root substitutes, and create a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Small posts or attachments are then connected to the implant, which protrude through the gums. These posts or attachments provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth.
Why Use Mint?
Mint dentists undergo special training to perform both aspects of dental implant surgery.. We know what the best candidates for successful dental implants look like. We know how to prepare and place the implants in the mouth. We carefully monitor your progress until the implants have bonded to the jawbone insuring you of greater success. Only then do we begin to install your new teeth. Finally, Mint implants are so life-like, they look, feel and act like natural teeth.
